Abstract

The education system plays a pivotal role in building and developing leadership skills among youth. Through formal curricula and extracurricular programs, youth are given the opportunity to learn and practice the skills needed to be effective leaders, such as communication, decision-making and collaboration. Experiential programs and values of inclusivity and equity can help students understand their role in society. There are gaps in their accessibility, especially in resource-constrained areas. Education should focus on integrating leadership development into various aspects of the curriculum and provide more opportunities for experiential development. Family and society involvement is crucial in supporting the process. To create competent and caring future leaders, education needs to design more inclusive programs and expand access to all students. By doing so, the education system can provide a solid foundation for the development of leadership skills that will be beneficial in the future.
